Fundraising Division
A very important part of our PERTHclub business is the Fundraising Division.
We believe that our Perth community relies very heavily on the actions and money raised by a relatively small number of volunteer fundraisers and as a part of our Groups community action policy we have long been involved in supporting fundraising for many charities and causes - including our corporate charity Variety WA.
Our Chair compiled the 10 Step Starter Pack process and these notes to assist people without any fundraising event experience to conduct simple and successful fund raising events using our PERTHcards.
Of course it helps to have experience and we prepared this material so that you might have the benefit of ours to help you make a success of your fundraising events, avoid mistakes and maximise your opportunities.
Our Chair was for a member of the Western Australian Board of a major international children’s charity for a decade and during that time he was a part of team that raised many millions of dollars, much of it by way of small to medium sized fundraising events and his role was to assist, visit and support as many of the team's events as possible. So he participated in thousands of events in that decade.
He saw many very successful events, including some very unusual fundraising events and a few that looked likely to be terrific but did not work as well as they should have. The common elements that he observed in the successful ones form the basis of the Starter Pack 10 Step process and some of the warnings come from what he saw in the events that did not succeed as intended. All of that has been blended with some of his own knowledge gathered via his formal qualifications – an honours degree in law from UWA and 40 successful years in the entertainment and hospitality business in Perth.
If you have any questions about fundraising events with PERTHcard please email us.
It is very important for you to understand that these notes are intended as a simple guide only. They are not intended to be a comprehensive thesis on fundraising or events - the opinions expressed here are those of the author and of course do not come with any guarantee of success.
If you follow our 10 Step Starter Pack outline sensibly and methodically with a well organised team of reasonably intelligent people, who spend the time required to work co-operatively and systematically through the processes discussed in these notes, then it is reasonably likely that the team will enjoy success.
Of course there is a risk involved in managing any fundraising event. We are not saying there is no risk at all. But if you follow this PERTHcard Starter Pack 10 Step process professionally and work hard we believe that the 10 Step Starter Pack system will work for you..
